Lookbook
This page is a visual guide to wearing the Living Ahava collection through the seasons. Every piece in the line is designed to layer, mix, and travel between settings without needing a complete outfit change. Church on Sunday morning. Coffee with friends on Saturday. A weekday that calls for something that feels intentional but not overdressed.
Spring / Summer
The Ahava tee and linen trousers
The natural cotton Ahava tee is the starting point for most warm-weather outfits. The oversized fit keeps it cool. Pair it with wide-leg linen trousers and flat sandals for a relaxed look that works at a brunch table or a farmer's market. The hand-drawn lettering across the chest is subtle enough for everyday wear but clear enough to start a conversation when someone asks about the word.
The faith-print wrap dress
Our mud-cloth-inspired wrap dress in lightweight cotton. The print is inspired by traditional Malian bogo patterns but adapted for a contemporary silhouette. Wrap it tighter for church, looser for an evening walk. Works on its own in July or with a denim jacket in cooler weeks. The print is screen-printed by hand, so each run has slight variations.
Accessories as the statement piece
On the hottest days, keep the clothing simple and let the accessories carry the message. The Ahava pendant necklace on a simple chain, layered over a plain white tee, does more work than a full outfit. Add the Adinkra stud earrings for a second point of interest. Both are sterling silver and hold up to sweat and sunscreen better than plated alternatives.
Autumn / Winter
The Carry-Love hoodie
Our heavyweight cotton hoodie was designed for the colder months. The embroidered ahava sits inside the hem rather than across the chest, so the piece reads as a clean, minimal hoodie from a distance and reveals its identity up close. Layer it under a long coat for November. Wear it alone over leggings for a weekend morning. The cotton is heavy enough to hold shape after washing and soft enough to sleep in when you don't feel like changing.
Layering Kente-print pieces
Our Kente-inspired scarves and headwraps add colour to a winter outfit without requiring a full wardrobe change. A gold-and-green Kente-print scarf over a black wool coat creates a focal point. A headwrap in the same print works for a church service or a community gathering and keeps your head warm in the process.
The faith-and-coffee mug
Not a wearable, but the piece most customers photograph. The 14oz ceramic mug with scripture printed inside the lip. It sits on a desk or a kitchen counter and quietly declares something about the owner without being loud about it. A good gift for someone who already owns the clothing and needs one more piece to round out the set.
Styling notes from our customers
We asked regular customers how they wear the pieces. A few recurring themes:
- Church first, everything else second. Most customers buy their first piece for Sunday services. The pieces then migrate into the weekday wardrobe because they are comfortable enough to wear daily.
- Gifting drives discovery. Many customers were introduced to the brand when someone gave them a mug, a pendant, or a tee. Gifts account for roughly a third of our orders.
- Neutral bases, bold accessories. The most common styling approach is a neutral outfit (black, white, cream) with one or two Living Ahava accessories as the statement pieces.
- Mother-daughter matching. Several customers order the Ahava tee in two sizes for matching outfits with their daughters. We now stock the tee in sizes from youth small to adult 3XL.
